Kate Meets Elle

Last weekend, one of my best friends, Courtney, and her husband, Josh, came to visit us with their little girl, Elle! They live in Mississippi, so it was quite the trip for them to haul their little one (who is about 20 months old) all the way to Oklahoma....I won't even go into all the terrible delays and airport madness they faced. I was just thankful they were able to get here, so that Kate could meet Elle for the first time! And, I hadn't seen Elle since she was around 6 months old, so I was so excited to see her again. She's such a doll - as you can see by these pics!!

Kate and Elle had a great time together. I think Kate is really into toddlers who talk and move - she seems to be mesmerized by them. Elle tried her best to say "Kate" but it ended up sounding more like "Baby Cake" - so cute! Spending the weekend with Elle gave me a good glimpse into what the near future holds in store...tons of fun with one on the move! I absolutely love this shot of the girls giving each other a kiss.

The weekend was so much fun - we went to the Omniplex Science Museum and went to a Thunder game and watched the Thunder beat the Knicks with just seconds left. It was awesome!

Wish there wasn't so much distance between us! Next time, it'll be our turn to haul Miss Kate cross country to visit.

Girl Meets Boy

Last weekend, Kate took her second road trip but this time it was to see our good friends, Delana and Stephen Mota, in Dallas! Delana and Steve just had a little boy (Preston George Mota) in late August...so he's about 5 weeks old and Kate is 3 1/2 months. The timing of children for both Delana and I could not have been more perfect! It's exciting that our kids are so close in age and I know that they will have many, many fun times together as they get older. The weekend was so much fun but my have times changed ; ) From college roomies to now mommies, our lives have changed dramatically but it couldn't be better!

Preston is so handsome and has so much hair! Delana styles it will a little dab of baby lotion and he looks so adorable! We watched these two all weekend and told baby story after baby story. It's crazy how much Kate has changed since she was 5 weeks old...time truly flies! Kate was definitely awake more and required more entertainment, which we were happy to provide. We went on walks, played on Preston's fun mat, read books, watched some football and just hung out. Delana and I broke away for a while and treated ourselves to manis and pedis...can't wait until Kate can come along ; )

Showering Baby Preston!

Last weekend was so much fun! I helped host a shower for one of my dearest friends from college, Delana! She and her husband are expecting their first child - a little boy - any day now!!! I'm so happy for them and the timing of our pregnancies could not have been more perfect. Actually, we didn't time anything but it just worked out perfectly ; )!!! Their precious baby Preston will be here on August 27 if not sooner! I can't wait for Kate to meet Preston and for our families to share many, many wonderful times together.

Here are a few pics from Delana's shower! I realized once I got home and reviewed the pictures that I didn't have near the snapshots I thought I had taken. I think I must have taken lots for other people and I suppose I was hosting, so I was pretty busy at times ; ) These are just a few but I must admit that Delana racked up with so many neat baby gifts. Preston is going to be completely set and he's got such a wonderful, big family (and lots of friends) that are so, so anxious to meet him! The countdown is on!!!
