3 Months Old

So Kate is actually going on 4 months now - she's about 1 week shy of being 4 months old - but as usual these days, I'm behind with posting. We took our monthly picture with our monkey friend (we still don't have a name for him). Thought for comparison sake, I'd include her 1 month, 2 month and 3 month photos all together. Wow! She's growing like a weed!

The Two Foot Two Month Old!

Kate will actually be 3 months old on Thursday of this week, but I wanted to make a post to recap the last month...especially since we went to the doctor for her two month check up and shots : ( and couldn't believe it when the doc told us how big she was! She's in the 90th percentile in both height and weight. She's 3 inches taller than I was at her same age. Crazy! Who knows, maybe we'll have a really tall girl on our hands! I never learned how to dribble or play basketball, but I'm certain if she continues on this rate, she'll be a basketball player! : ) Wooohooo!

At 2 months, Kate was 24 inches tall (that's 2 feet!) and she weighed 12 pounds 10 ounces. She's gained a whopping 5 pounds, 5 ounces since she was born! Here's a few more pics over the last month that we love. One of her new favorite tricks is playing peek a boo with her shirt or dress! And, you can't beat all those little rolls! So precious!

Hays, America!

It's been a while since I've posted. Our camera ran out of juice recently and needed to be re-charged and guess what....we couldn't find our camera charger. Uggh! We've recovered it now - we knew it was somewhere to be found - and all is good! So, needless to say, I've got a little blog catch up to do.

We can hardly believe that Kate will soon be 3 months old. She's getting so big! This past weekend for Labor Day we went to Hays, America (that's where Kyle was born) to see Kate's great grandma and great grandpa Keil, in addition to other extended fam! Hays is in Kansas and it's about a 6 1/2 hour drive. It's a small town and definitely has the small town charm! It was Kate's first road trip and while no doubt traveling with an infant presents new challenges, she did really well to only be 2 1/2 months old! We stopped a little more frequently and worked in a bottle and some stretching. She was a great traveling companion. Honestly, most of the way she slept contently in her car seat.

Our trip was spent just relaxing with family. This was the first time for most of the extended family to see Kate, so she was the center of everyone's attention. We also went to "the park" in Hays and Kate had a good time hanging out with her daddy in the baby carrier. We missed out on getting to see Great Grandma Murphy but we'll be heading back for Christmas with bells on! That'll be exciting!
